Confusion

Vince Lombardi once said, "Its hard to be aggressive when you're confused."

I couldn't agree more.

How this may apply to the area of self defense training is simple. You cannot train with the mindset of what or how you will defend against what or from whom... You must train for yourself!

When punching in the air, we learn that the power of your punch will actually increase, versus punching a pad or a bag. This is in part because of the fact that when punching a bag, we anticipate the impact. When punching in the air, we just let it fly. As Master Phil Nearing of Chicago puts it, "Let it go...who cares where the energy goes."

So, in that aspect of training for punching power, we are training not to hit a target rather, we are training to perfect ourselves... Make sense?

Train for yourself. Take away the confusion, remember we are training for us and not them.

Not a Victim...Not Today!
